Affiliate Disclosure

How Western Mile identifies commercial links and protects editorial independence.

Last updated August 8, 2026

How affiliate links work

Western Mile may participate in affiliate programs. When an active affiliate link is used and a reader makes a qualifying purchase, Western Mile may receive a commission. The reader does not pay an additional fee because of that commission.

How links will be identified

Pages containing affiliate links will include a clear disclosure near the beginning of the content. Individual commercial links will also be identified where practical and will use appropriate sponsored-link attributes.

Editorial independence

Affiliate availability does not determine the buyer criteria, comparison categories, stated tradeoffs, or recommendation order. Western Mile may choose not to link to a product when the available information is incomplete or the product does not fit the intended use case.

When more than one verified retailer is available, a recommendation may show several retailer options. The product recommendation and its evidence record remain separate from those retailer links.

Prices, availability, and suitability

Product prices, inventory, specifications, and retailer terms can change. Readers should verify current information with the seller and confirm that equipment is appropriate for their body, skill level, activity, destination, and conditions.

Current link status

Product recommendations currently link to verified manufacturer or retailer pages. Western Mile does not earn a commission from these links.
